Brief Profile of MoEC's PPID Coordinator

Reformasi yang bergulir pada tahun 1998 yang ditandai dengan 3 (tiga) tuntutan yaitu; demokratisasi, tranparasi dan supremasi hukum & HAM, telah membawa perubahan mendasar dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat, berbangsa dan benegara. Konsekuensi dari tuntutan reformasi tersebut salah satu di antaranya adalah ditetapkannya Undang-Undang Nomor 14 tahun 2008 tentang Keterbukaan Informasi Publik yang bertujuan untuk mewujudkan tata kelola pemerintahan yang baik dan bertanggungjawab (good governance) melalui penerapan prinsip-prinsip akuntabilitas, transparansi dan supremasi hukum serta melibatkan partisipasi masyarakat dalam setiap proses kebijakan publik.

Regarding Public Information Services as mandated in Law 14/2008, in 2015 the Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) established the Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) within the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) through the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 244/P/2015 concerning the Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) within Kemendikbud. In carrying out the task of providing public information services, PPID Kemendikbud is guided by the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture (Permendikbud) No. 16/2017 on Public Information Services within the Ministry of Education and Culture. Based on these matters, PPID within the Ministry of Education and Culture is responsible for providing, storing, documenting, serving, and securing public information.

Along with the changes in the organization and work procedures of the Ministry of Education and Culture in the Onward Indonesia Cabinet (2019-2024) where higher education affairs returned to the Ministry of Education and Culture which was originally the task and function of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, public information services at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) were also transformed. In accordance with the Merdeka Belajar policy promoted by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Mendikbudristek) Nadiem Anwar Makarim, public information services at Kemendikbudristek also provide freedom to serve the public in all Units / Work Units at Kemendikbudristek both central and regional in accordance with applicable statutory provisions.

This is covered by Permendikbud Number 41 of 2020 concerning Public Information Services at the Ministry of Education and Culture. Currently, public information services and documentation in the Ministry of Education and Culture are carried out by PPID Main Unit, PPID Technical Service Unit, PPID Higher Education Service Institution, and PPID State Universities. Around 330 PPIDs of the Ministry of Education and Culture are committed to providing excellent information services to the public. In addition, the transformation of service governance and public information documentation at the Ministry of Education and Culture is an effort to realize bureaucratic reform at the Ministry of Education and Culture to provide optimal public information services.

The Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) of LLDikti Region IX is a unit or part of LLDikti Region IX that is responsible for managing information and documentation produced and used by LLDikti Region IX.

The main function of PPID is to provide easier and more transparent access to the public regarding information and documents related to the institution or organization. PPID is tasked with collecting, managing, and providing public information to parties in need, including the general public.

One of the main roles of PPID is to ensure public information disclosure in accordance with applicable laws in Indonesia, such as the Public Information Disclosure Law. PPID also plays a role in maintaining the security and confidentiality of sensitive information.
